Clear and cool. 20F

TR sets Bison trap in the morning and re-stocks the walk-in trap.

Tom and Dan drag bull-elk out to Macallester barns in the afternoon.

1 Raven is at the walk-in trap around noon. RECAP Left T teal.

Tom pulls the net launcher in the evening and puts the legs in the tree.

TR sets Bison trap in the morning.

No birds seen that day at the trap.

Eggs restocked daily at walk-in trap.
1 Raven captured at walk-in.

Cool and Clear, 13F at 7am

TR set out a new elk leg with the trap at Bison.

Tues, Feb 27, 2007

Snowing and windy. 18F at 7am.

TR set traps.

11 am Checked Mead ranch; plenty of ravens at corn feeders.
Dummy trap is gone. Refill eggs for walk-in trap.
Too much wind and snow for corn feeder trapping.

2pm Checked Bison bait. 3 birds; 2 goldens and maybe one juvie bald.
Shot off the net but snow drifts made it fall short.
One golden traped for moment, then got out.

4:15 pm Checked Bison bait and 2 goldens are back. One flushed the other off before the trap was sprung and they flew away together; maybe a breeding pair?

TR takes in traps to dry out for the night and puts elk legs in a tree.

Intermittant snow. 20F at 7 am.

Feeding is late at the Mead Ranch.

TR sets traps, returns to Mead Ranch at 11 am. High winds prevent trapping.
Puts in eggs to walk in trap.

2 ravens are feeding at Bison at 4 pm.

2 ravens in walk-in trap at 5pm.
